Bob Mader Music

Once in a great while, there comes a person who reinvents a genre. Armed with the faith and talent of one in a million, Bob Mader is that person for Christian music. Together with Steve Rutledge, friend, producer, and brother in Christ, Bob is able capture the beauty of his faith traditions and combine them with the depths of his fervent passion to further God's Kingdom.
"Leaving your spirit in a better place than I found it”
That is Bob's goal when writing or performing a song. Drawing from a pallet of diverse backgrounds, from his Catholic roots to a wide range of Protestant experiences, Bob is able to weave a tapestry of lyric and melody that touches the hearts of believers and non-believers alike.
Born and raised in Ohio, where he was founding member of The Uninvited Guests, the darlings of the mid 1980’s Cincinnati alternative music scene. With the help of his bandmates, and life-long friends, Bob learned he had a knack for crafting a clever lyric and creating catchy melodies. In 1989, he moved to East Tennessee as he began his 26 year career as an Air Traffic Controller. While it took a backseat to his career and raising a family, Bob’s passion for music was always there. He was a member of several worship teams, and even led worship in the remote Siberian city of Ust-Kut. Ask him today, and he can still worship for you in Russian.
All the while, lyrics were being jotted down on the backs of church bulletins, scraps of notebook paper, or whatever else was handy. Inspired by a scripture here, a sunset there, or the smile of child, perpetual life was breathed into these everyday experiences via song. In 2014, Bob met and became fast friends with his producer Steve Rutledge. Bonded by quick wit, a passion for music, and two of the most attractive bald heads in the industry, Bob and Steve have been able to bring these songs to a level worthy of your listening ears.
In 2017, Bob became involved in Kingdom Songs, a collective or worship leaders passionate about writing songs for their church bodies. Under the tutelage of multiple Dove award winner Michael Farren, he has continued to hone his craft and has co written songs with renowned worship songwriters such as Matt Armstrong, Corey Voss, Dustin Smith, and Aaron Rice.
In July of 2019, Bob lost his wife and number one fan to the hideous disease of cancer. She had always joked with him that if he didn't do something positive in the world with his music, that she would come back and haunt him until he did. Her last words here on earth were "Testify" and Bob has taken that as his charge from her, to share God's love so that she can see as many people with her in Christ's glory as possible.
Bob's real estate business consumed a lot of the next couple of years as he was able to dig himself out of the massive debt that putting life on hold to care for a loved one causes, not to mention the medical expenses. That put music on the back burner for a while, but now he is ready to release the back log of music into the universe.
Love is the answer! Love is the call! It is the battle cry for the hearts and souls of all humankind. Bob trusts in that calling and will not waiver. He will continually chase the wonder that is God's love and share it with all who will listen.
